10 August: US & Canada COVID-19 Aviation Traffic Report

Demand Plateau

Not much in terms of hopeful signals, though there's very modest positive growth in year-over-year demand again... though passenger demand and total number of flights has more or less been flat since early July. No significant changes to fleet growth, airlines generally flew a few more aircraft last week than the week before. TSA screenings per passenger flight (a fairly good indicator of load factors) has been steady in the low 50s for the last few weeks, vs. 100 on March 1. The airlines have been adjusting their schedules to meet flattened demand as follows:

For those of you wishing to keep tabs on aviation news, this Twitter list should scratch that itch. Regular readers will note that several of the graphs now have a 7 day trend line, and that the airline activity with daily numbers have been dropped (they were getting really, really hard to read and discern trends from).
