A field guide to Icelandair's 2022 rebrand liveries

Magenta: admittedly unambiguous, Icelandair says it, "signifies the collective creative power of Iceland, with just a hint of sunrise." TF-ICU, a 737 MAX 8, is the sole aircraft wearing this livery.

Snow white, "represents our glaciers," and midnight blue, "our heritage color and the backdrop to the dancing auroras," are the other two colors used on this, and all of the other Icelandair aircraft.

Golden yellow: "the sun reflecting off waterfalls, glaciers, and even simmering magma." TF-ICY, a 737 MAX 8, is the only aircraft in these colors.

Green: representing "life that can be found even after the harshest of events." TF-ICP is the only aircraft with a green stripe.

Boreal blue: playing homage to the northern lights, will perhaps be the most challenging color for aviation enthusiasts, as it's very close to the green and crisp blue colors Icelandair is also using - in photos it's easy to interpret as evidence of a white balance issue. Even in person, it was hard for me to decide if I was looking at a shade of green or blue - I'd describe it as a "seafoam green." TF-ICR, a 737 MAX 8, is the only aircraft in these colors.

Crisp blue: also referred to as "sky blue" in some materials, represents "Icelandic summer sky that’s filled with light." TF-ICE and TF-ICS, 737 MAX 8s, are both wearing this.

TF-ICN and TF-ICO are now the only 737 MAX 8s in the fleet wearing the original MAX interpretation of the previous livery, which dropped "Icelandair" from the tail, and changed the belly treatment of the fuselage from dark blue with a yellow strip to a simplified gray bib.
