Yearly subscriptions, additional tracking links, and other updates

We've been hard at work behind the scenes adding some long-wanted features to the app and website!

Annual subscriptions

We're happy to announce a new yearly payment option is now available on all platforms at $50 USD / year. If you'd like to save $10 annually by switching from the monthly plan, you may now do so:

  • If paying directly though our website, scroll do the bottom of the account page and click "manage."
  • If paying through Apple's App Store, open the Settings app, search for "Subscriptions," tap JetTip, tap "See All Plans."
  • If paying through Google Play, open Google Play, make sure you're signed in with the correct account, and then follow the on-screen instructions for your JetTip subscription

Flight details pop-up

We've made the app and website much less jarring to use by loading flight details in a new pop-up (or modal window, for those of you who are into web/app development). Links from email alerts, and shared with friends, will still work as they did before, but when tapping on flight details from the arrival/departure board, or your alert history, information will now pop up, and go away, without disrupting your browsing.

Additional tracking / media links

Links to FlightAware, FlightRadar24, and Planespotters.net remain, and we've now added links to several new resources:

  • adsb.lol, our favorite uncensored indie flight tracking service
  • Flickr, a great photo sharing service, especially amongst those of us who started taking photography seriously when film wasn't just for hipsters
  • JetPhotos, the premier online source for reviewed, high-quality aviation imagery
  • Instagram, a very popular way of looking at photography on a small, annoying screen (get off my lawn!)
  • YouTube, one of the most widely used platforms for sharing video content
  • LiveATC.net, a great resource for monitoring live and archived aviation radio activity

Correct formatting for non-US tail numbers

An issue that has annoyed many of us for seven years, non-hyphenated international aircraft registrations, has finally been fixed. "PH-BVA" will no longer be shown as "PHBVA" - wonders never cease!
